Hey hey! For those of you who don’t know…this is Hadassah. If you’ve not read the story of Esther you should! (Hadassah-Esther…same woman in the bible!)

Here’s a super brief summary… King Ahasuerus (Xerxes in some versions) gets very angry with his queen and orders that she never come before him again. He starts searching for a new queen and Esther (who is Jewish) wins his adoration and becomes this new queen. The king had an advisor who was a scuzzy, evil man who was planning to kill the man who had raised Hadassah (Mordecai) as well as all her people…the Jews. Knowing that she could be killed if she approaches the king without being called, she goes anyway in an effort to save her people. She was saved, her people were saved, and the king’s scuzzy, evil advisor was hanged on the gallows he had built for Mordecai.

Esther 4:14 is one of the most well known verses from this book, which says, “For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

It’s very rare that I ever get to have alone time with this kiddo…or any of them really, but today we got to sneak off and hang out for a whole hour. I like her! Most of the time we are overwhelmed by chaos and craziness with three kiddos at home, but when I get her by yourself I just love the way she is. I love that she is unique. She is kind to her friends. She can (when she wants to) be the sweetest thing ever. She is spirited. She is passionate. She knows what her 6 year old self wants and does just about anything to get it.

I pray over this kiddo all the time that she would fall madly in love with the creator of the universe and that God would use her to do HUGE things to further His kingdom. That she would embody this same type of courage that Esther had!
